IS THERE A WAITING PERIOD FOR DIVORCE IN TEXAS?

Yes, 60 DAYS.
In Texas, the court can't grant the divorce until at least 60 days have passed since the divorce petition was filed.
There are two exceptions to this waiting period:
the responding spouse has been convicted of or received deferred adjudication for an offense involving
family violence against the petitioner or a member
of the petitioner's household,
or
the petitioner has an active protective order against the responding spouse based on a finding of family violence.
In these cases, a court can finalize the divorce more quickly and before the 60 day waiting period has passed.
