Local Family Lawyers Favorite Fort Worth Cheeseburger Spots

If you are hungry tonight, swing by one of these amazing cheeseburger spots approved by longtime local, attorney Bob Leonard.

Here are Bob's top 5 favorite burger places in Fort Worth.

M&O Station Burgers -

In 1978, Danny “Chef D” Badillo began his culinary career at the Fort Worth Petroleum Club. After cheffing at the distinguished establishment for over two decades, Danny decided it was time to create his own menu. In support of her husband’s vision, Rose Badillo left her downtown corporate job, and together the two embarked on a ‘leap of faith’ journey.

Chef D and Rose opened their catering business in 1998, using a tax-refund check to purchase a food truck. As demand quickly grew for the Badillos’ flavorful food, the couple decided it was time to open their first brick-and-mortar location. After a short stint in River Oaks, the couple moved to 2700 W 7th Street, where they would steadily grow their business from 2000 to 2006. The 7th Street Station Grill operated as a daytime diner serving homestyle comfort foods, it quickly became a favorite among locals, including philanthropist Martha Leonard.

Since relaunching their business in 2007, Danny and Rose have been happily serving the best burgers in Fort Worth, picking up a plethora of awards along the way. Today, the Badillos are proud to have just opened the M&O Cocktail Lounge. Led by son Nathan Badillo, the family is excited to see where the M&O journey takes them next!

Fred's Texas Cafe

From a couple who bought a sleepy diner to a couple of buddies who got together to share their love of cooking and coldass beer, no one would have thought 40+ years ago they‘d create an institution recognized the world over as one of the icons of Fort Worth, Texas.

KINCAIDS

In their own words; Charles Kincaid’s Grocery and Market opened in 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas. It was the first grocery store in the area to have specialty departments, including a full-service meat market with O.R. Gentry as the head butcher. In 1964, O.R. began cooking burgers on a small griddle for local customers. Using the best cuts of meat and the freshest vegetables from the produce rack, the burgers soon became the talk of the town. Over time, Kincaid’s evolved from a grocery store to a hamburger institution.

The burgers continued to grow in popularity and in 1982 Kincaid’s won “Best Burger in America”, the first among many awards. In 2005, the Gentry family decided to spread the love of Kincaid’s burgers to other towns and opened its second location in Southlake, Texas. The family now owns and operates five locations, including the original store on Camp Bowie Blvd. To this day, they take pride in using only the best and freshest ingredients for our food just like O.R. did.

CHARLEY'S OLD FASHIONED BURGERS

Travel back in time at this classic cheeseburger spot. Charley’s The Great Burger certainly hits the nostalgia spot. Their main classic is double meat, double cheese hamburger with Canadian bacon, regular bacon and a little Swiss cheese thrown in for good measure.

The old school burger bar known as Charley’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers is a true Fort Worth local throwback.

LOVE SHACK BURGERS

Chef Tim Love’s classic burger joint, the Love Shack, is a one of a kind dining experience for families of all ages.

Since the Love Shack’s opening in the Stockyards National Historic District, Chef Love’s gourmet hamburger, the “Dirty Love Burger” has been lauded by critics as a “Burger that is one of the best in America.”
