Forensic Psychology
Forensic psychology takes basic social and cognitive theories and principles, and applies them to the legal system. In matters related to eyewitness memory, jury selection, investigations, and interviewing, theories of psychology are being increasingly applied to the law.
Michael Flynn is the only Tarrant County attorney who is also a licensed psychologist. He has served as a litigation consultant for well over a thousand legal matters, and continues to apply his knowledge of human behavior and motivation to jury trials.
Social Studies
A social study is a court-ordered investigation of the living conditions of a child or incapacitated adult. Speak to the attorneys at the Bob Leonard Law Group, P.L.L.C. for legal representation before a judge and preparation with general information forms, character witnesses, and caseworker interviews.
After the court orders a home study, you will have to fill out a questionnaire. This form may be the most important element in your case. Even before speaking to you, the caseworker will form a general theory of the case based on how you filled out this document. You will have to provide references as character witnesses. We help our clients prepare for all aspects of this review. We perform the appropriate background checks and prepare you for the interview with the caseworker—steps that can make the deciding difference in the home study.

Psychological Evaluations
Michael counsels clients in cases where questions of competence, child health, child welfare, or issues of rehabilitation are at stake.
Psychological evaluations are objective observations carried out by a trained professional to determine someone’s cognitive abilities and emotional experiences. Having training in both law and psychology has given me a unique understanding about what is truly important in conducting an evaluation. In the legal system, these kinds of evaluations can help to mitigate sentencing.
