Texas readers may remember the media accounts of the divorce between actor Kelsey Grammer and his wife Camille. The bitter divorce stretched out over a two-year period, but now is finally coming to an end. According to reports, the former couple has finally determined the all important who-gets-what of divorce, which includes custody of their children and three homes owned during their divorce.
After 13 years of marriage and two children later, the former couple has decided the best way to settle their $60 million estate. Reports indicate that the couple's disputed Beverley Hills home will be sold despite Kelsey Grammer's request to remove the house from the market and to be able to reside in it after the divorce. Recent reports have not indicated what the child custody settlement entails.
The couple has been struggling to reach an agreement for the past two years, only communicating through their attorneys. Camille has stated her desire for an amicable arrangement for their children; however, she feels that Kelsey is unwilling. Both parties have moved on to new relationships since the divorce.
Many Texas couples likely can relate to the struggles of the former Mr. and Mrs. Grammer. During divorce, determining property division can be challenging and lengthy. While many couples will not have the high-value assets of celebrities such as the Grammers, most couples have assets that must be divided. Choosing an amicable approach is always the best option, though in either event, utilizing the assistance of a professional can prove beneficial.
